ALBANY, GA --
Merry Acres Middle School held a parental involvement workshop Friday morning.

The theme of the workshop was “Mother’s on the Move: To Make an Impact on their Child’s Academic Achievement".

”The purpose of the workshop was to help teach mothers how to help their children with good study habits, and life skills to help become better readers. These skills will help children succeed through school, college, and the real world.

Leslie Charles, the guest speaker at today’s workshop, stressed how important it is for children to know they have the support of their parents. Charles said the world is not an easy place to live in, even when you’re a child, and kids need to know their home is their safe haven.
