The Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested 37-year-old Kevin Duane Rutherford of Americus on Wednesday thanks to the help of their K9 unit.

Officials were performing a routine traffic stop on Rutherford when the K9 officer gave his trainer the signal that he smelled drugs around the car. Officers searched Rutherford's car and found marijuana inside.

Rutherford was taken to the Lee County Jail where he's currently being held and charged with possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
