"It actually will open up new grounds, some areas they're able to get to now that they couldn't before, so sometimes it's good because you get to fish new areas instead of pounding the same old areas," explains Jackie Sizemore, owner of Backwoods Outdoor.

ALBANY, GA --
It turns out people aren't the only ones who like to lay low when it's raining.

Fish also tend to be less active which can be a problem for fishermen. The dark murky water can deter the fish from moving around, but once the dirt settles the fishing can actually get better.

"It actually will open up new grounds, some areas they're able to get to now that they couldn't before, so sometimes it's good because you get to fish new areas instead of pounding the same old areas," explains Jackie Sizemore, owner of Backwoods Outdoors.

Although it may be a little more difficult, Sizemore says the fishermen he knows wouldn't let a little rain stop them from fishing.
