DEKALB COUNTY, GA --
A DeKalb County doctor has been indicted by a grand jury for Medicaid fraud over elective abortions.

According to information issued by the Attorney General of Georgia's office, Andre Damian Williams has been indicted accepting over $200,000 in Medicaid funds for services not rendered and for services associated with the performance of elective abortions.

The Attorney General's office says that the Hyde Amendment passed in 1976 has prohibited the use of federal funds to pay for elective abortions and services associated with elective abortions.
