ALBANY, GA --
An early morning wreck along the Liberty Expressway left a car damaged, but the driver was no where to be found.

Just after 2 AM Thursday morning, the driver was trying to turn from the Liberty Expressway onto Slappey Boulevard.

Instead, the driver went down an embankment, hit a tree and finally stopped along the on-ramp to the Liberty Expressway.

Pieces of the car including tires, bumpers and headlights scattered the area, but the driver was gone when police arrived.

The driver was found about an hour later in Lee County.
