ALBANY, GA. --

A group of over 20 young ladies in white have taken a step away from youth into adulthood.

The 60th annual Utilis Matronae Debutante Presentation was held Friday evening for 23 high school seniors who will soon be a part of the adult world.

The ball was the culmination of the Utilis debutante season. During this time the girls take on community service projects while preparing for the world to come.

“They'll be going off to college and many of them will be leaving Albany to go to college and we want them to have experiences that will help them be global in society,” said Patricia Dunlap, Utilis Matronae program chairperson.
