Man arrested in Florida for armed robbery of Family Dollar in Camilla

CAMILLA, GA -- A man wanted connection to a November 20th robbery of the Family Dollar in Camilla has been arrested in Florida.

Investigators with Camilla police say that on November 20th, 37-year-old Karonn Skinner walked into the Family Dollar wearing a black jacket, a stocking on his head, and large framed eye glasses.

Officers say he walked to the register like a customer and then demanded money, showing the clerk a handgun in his waistband while demanding money from the register. He then ordered the clerk to the back until he left.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of Skinner in Tallahassee, Florida where he is currently in the Leon County Jail awaiting proceedings to have him extradited back to Georgia.

Skinner has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He also faces charges for the armed robbery of a Decatur County Convenience store as well.
