ALBANY, GA --
Albany State lost a vital piece of its athletic program this weekend. The school has confirmed that sports information director Edythe Bradley died Saturday at the age of 46.

Fondly referred to by most as just- Miss Bradley, she was more than a sports information director. Bradley spent 16 years doing everything she could for the Albany State coaches, students and the media that covered Golden Rams athletics.

"Most sports programs have two or three individuals (in sports information). At Albany State, we were fortunate to have Edythe Bradley. She was three or four persons doing a single job and she's going to be missed," ASU Athletic Director Dr. Richard Williams said on Sunday.

Numerous posts hit social media on Saturday offering up prayers and condolences to the Bradley family. The Camilla native died at Archibald Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. The cause of death has not been released.

Several ASU coaches were shocked to hear the unexpected news.

“When I heard the news, it was hard to put it into words. With her job..she probably worked closer to a coach’s type of hours. She was a good person…Edythe was more than a sports information director,” ASU Head Football Coach Mike White said.

“She was always a sweet person, always made things easier for the athletic program. For that, I've always had a lot of respect for her,” ASU Men’s Basketball Coach Chris Cameron said.
