FEMA arrived at Thornton Gymnasium in Albany on Friday setting up its disaster recovery center where people began to reshape their lives.
Flood victims showed up checking on their registration, while some registered for funding; an individual assistance fund can climb to $28,000 or more. FEMA’s Jody Correro says it’s not too late to register.
“If they’re registering here they should bring a current telephone number, a social security number, proof of residence at the time of the disaster. If they have insurance, the name of the insurance agent. It would be good to have the bank routing number and the checking account number,” said Correro.
