(AP) -- The National Weather Service says the storm that hit Haralson County on Wednesday morning was a tornado.

According to a statement put out Thursday morning by the weather service station in Peachtree City, the tornado touched down at Haralson County High School and was only on the ground for about 150 yards. The twister was an F0, the lowest category, which means it carried winds between 40 and 72 mph.  The weather service says the storm destroyed an outdoor
scoreboard, threw an HVAC unit from the roof on to cars in the parking lot and snapped some trees.  No one was injured in the storm.

Haralson County is on the state's western border.
