After back to back State Championships, the Deerfield-Windsor Knights were set for a rebuilding season. Despite having just two seniors and three eight-graders on the roster, the Knights still managed to earn a spot on the podium by finishing third in the AAA State Golf Championship.

The Monroe Tornadoes were not able to claim the Region 1-AAA Boy's Track and Field crown, instead they did one better, winning the school's first ever Boy's State Championship.

The Darton College golf team won't be the only one playing for a National Championship later this month. The Darton Lady Cavaliers softball team punched its ticket to the World Series by going 3-0 in this weekend's GJCAA conference tournament.

Burden averaged 9.4 points per game, 6 rebounds per game, and 2 assists per game as a senior at Lee County High School. Head Coach Fran McPherson said it is what Burden does without the ball makes her special.

Darton heads to the conference tournament with the top-seed and a first round bye. The conference champion has an automatic birth into the NJCAA World Series. If the Lady Cavaliers are to advance to nationals, it will be on the arms of its pitching staff.

The Lee County Trojans have won 21 regular season games, have been ranked No. 1 in the GHSA AAAA Coaches Poll since the second week of March, and have lost to just one Class AAAA opponent all season. However, if the Trojans don't win two of three this weekend none of that will matter, because Lee County will not advance to the state playoffs.

The South Georgia Wildcats have a little extra motivation heading into Saturday night's division-showdown at Tennessee Valley. Despite being the first team in af2 history to score 80 points or more in consecutive games, the Wildcats dropped one spot to fourth in this week's af2 Coaches Poll.

Albany State Golden Ram's head coach Edward Taylor mentioned how hungry his team was to get a shot at Stillman College well before the regular season began. Now that the post season has arrived, the Golden Rams will likely get their chance.
