Many people across the state of Georgia in need legal help had the opportunity to consult a lawyer for free.
Friday was set aside 'Ask-a-lawyer' day throughout the state.
One of the free advice clinics was set up in Albany with lawyers who volunteered their time.
Consultations were offered in the areas of consumer law, wills, powers of attorney, and family law.
“Volunteer attorneys would meet with them for 20 to 30 minutes and help them if they can or try to point them in the right direction and let them know who they need to contact and what they need to do to solve their problem,” said William Underwood III, Attorney at Law.
The pro bono event happens once a year.
