ALBANY, GA -- After a near 50-point win over Westfield, Deerfield-Windsor head coach Gordy Gruhl gave a rare compliment to his senior-laden squad: “we actually looked like a basketball team tonight”

And with that thought, it appears the post-football lull is over for the Knights

Building on a two game winning streak, Deerfield broke a school record for made three pointers in an 80-34 win over Stratford Academy on Tuesday. 13 was the number of shots made from long range, but number one is always the goal as the Knights hit region action this weekend.

Finally, Deerfield feels they've moved past the slow start.

“There's no question we learned a lot from watching film of those games. We made some corrections and I think that came in to fruition (Tuesday) night…that hard work has paid off. We can't stay there, we have to get better.

The Knights begin their region title defense at Southland Academy Friday. Deerfield returns home Saturday to face Furtah Prep.
