ALBANY, GA -- The Westover Patriots claimed the crown of city champion with a win over Albany High Saturday at Hugh Mills Stadium.

But forgive the Patriots if they're looking ahead- a larger piece of history is waiting on Westover next week.

Trailing 7-6 in the fourth quarter, Westover rallied to pull away from their city rival, 20-7. Patriots quarterback T.J. Cromer scored on a sneak to give Westover a 13-7 lead they didn’t relinquish.

Now, comes the fun part for the Patriots. Westover will host their first playoff game in school history next week in a 2012 regular season rematch. The Jonesboro Cardinals return to Hugh Mills for the first round of the GHSA playoffs.

Jonesboro defeated Westover 34-13 in week two of the regular season.
