ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Tech Titans don’t have experience, but they like their talent in 2012.

Eleven freshmen make up the 2012 Titans squad all looking to fill the void of GCAA All-Region star, Jamorris Gaines.

Titans Head Coach Sylvester Patterson expects a full team effort to make up for Gaines’ 19 points and six rebounds, and he expects for his team to do it the right way.

Chemistry issues blew up the Titans championship hopes last season, but the right elements of balance are showing promise for the upcoming season.

“We went after some big players and we signed three of them. The chemistry is really good. I really like this team. I think they're young, but if they gel I think they'll be there in the end,” Coach Patterson said.

“It's balanced all the way around from the starting five to the second five...they could be the starting five....even down to the third string. (They're) just as good as the second and the first,” Sophomore Tony Fears said.

The Titans are opening with a full course load this week hosting NAIA Brewton Parker at Albany State’s HPER Gym Thursday.

This weekend, Albany Tech travels to Niceville, Florida for two games against top competition. The Titans will face Brevard College and the NJCAA’s second ranked team, Northwest Florida State.
