ALBANY, GA -- The American Legion Post 30 honored the passing of local legend Paul Eames with their annual baseball tournament. Named in honor of Eames three years ago, the tourney has now been changed to remember the sports icon.

The Eames family was on hand Friday to accept a plaque and throw out the ceremonial first pitch for the Paul Eames Memorial Tournament.

In Friday’s diamond action of the Eames Memorial tournament, the Post 30 Seniors finished the day with a spotless 2-0 record. Post 30 rallied over Dothan Wiregrass with seven runs in the sixth inning to win 7-6.

Earlier Friday afternoon, Post 182 responded from a 2-1 deficit in the fifth against a separate Wiregrass team to win 6-5.

The Paul Eames Tournament resumes Saturday at 10 AM.
