ALBANY, GA -- Last season, the Albany Indians were removed from the playoffs in the second round. One year later, the Indians playoff encore only removed the doubt on a possible title run.

Albany buried Bleckley County 68-41 at Albany High Wednesday night. The Indians advance to the AA- State quarterfinals against Vidalia Saturday at 8:30 PM. Senior Tim Pierce was smooth to the basket in scoring 29 points as the Indians dismantled the Royals.

For the remainder of the week, Indians Head Coach Archie Chatmon needs to see the same effort on the practice court for the same result in the elite eight round.

“We've been having some great practices so that's where it starts. The next thing is just guts…just heart and guts and this team has got that. When we get to Savannah, we're going to have to rely on that heart and guts…some luck and everything else to get that win. But we're just going to go in there and fight,” Chatmon said.
