Latest news, weather and high school sports for Albany and Southwest Georgia

All the region championships have been claimed. Now at each classification, only thirty two basketball teams are still alive. All with their sights set on a five game winning streak and a state title.

The Mitchell County boys and girls finished off the A-Region 1 Championships sweeping through their competition Saturday night. While the Crisp County Cougars can claim that same sort of success after both teams earned the AAA-Region 1 titles.
