ALBANY, GA -- The Albany State softball team hosted national power Valdosta State Wednesday afternoon. The Blazers showed off their power in more ways than one.

Valdosta State tallied 32 hits in the 10-0, 21-0 two-game sweep of the Lady Rams.

Blazer shortstop Marti Littlefield blew game one open in the sixth with a crushing drive to the left-center fence. The hit scored two Blazer runs. Littlefield finished the game 2-5 with 5 RBI’s as Valdosta State scored all 10 runs in the final three innings of the game.

Game two was more of a collective effort. Lee County’s Sam Posey finished with three hits and four RBI’s in the second half of the doubleheader.

Albany State (2-6) travels to Thomas University Friday.
