AMERICUS, GA -- The countdown to high school football has officially hit the two-week mark. On August first, thousands of high school players will put on the pads all with one goal in mind- to be playing in December at the Georgia Dome.

A good portion of those high school players (or at least 350 coaches and players) attended the Fellowship of Christian Athlete's seven on seven camp at Georgia Southwestern State University on Monday

Area teams Westover, Albany and Worth County were three of the seven squads in attendance at the unique three day camp.

The FCA camp mixes in scrimmages for the skill players, and lineman drills for the big boys. FCA Camp Director Bill Cox added improvement off the field as a camp focal point as well.

“We don't just go out and compete…in the evening we have chapel service and we have someone to come in and share a testimony…and just instill in these guys what's most important,” Cox said.
