Albany Panthers showoff their new trophy

ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Panthers have done a lot of celebrating this Fourth of July weekend for its Southern Indoor Football League championship, but no official championship can be complete without a parade.

Check that off the list- the Panthers had one of those on Monday too.

The Panthers organization was on hand at Veteran's amphitheatre taking pictures with fans and enjoying the first professional football championship in the city of Albany. Panthers general manager Will Carter walked around the amphitheatre showing off the results of the Panthers 2011 season, but said the party for the organization is only beginning.

“Our goal from day one was to win a championship and we we're able to bring it home...it's exciting, it's a great feeling,” Carter said. “I can tell you everyone will be back. We're going to repeat. Mark my words here on FOX 31...we're going to be back.”

The Panthers are expected to announce soon that the core of the front office staff will return for another season, including head coach Lucious Davis.
