ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Panthers wrap up the regular season at home Saturday night against the Alabama Hammers, and a win in the contest would seal a first round playoff game back at the Civic Center next weekend.
However, a loss on Saturday and the Panthers will be taking quite the lengthy road trip. A 940 mile, 15 hour and 55 minute bus ride, to be exact, to Erie, Penn for a first round game with the Erie Explosion.
The Panthers and Explosion haven't played this year but Albany knows tomorrow's Alabama opponent well.
The Panthers are 2-0 against the Hammers including an 86-70 win in week 10. The 86- point offensive output marked the highest point total in the history of the Panthers franchise.
Panther head coach Lucious Davis said his team isn’t taking the Hammers lightly, but is ready to move on to the preseason goal of winning the SIFL championship.
