ALBANY, GA -- A Westover High School track champ signed a $4,000 athletic scholarship for Savannah State University Tuesday afternoon.

Justin Taylor is a Georgia High School State Championship winner in the triple jump. He participates in a wide variety of track events which is why one of his coaches calls Taylor the most versatile athlete he’s seen.

Taylor will be running track at Savannah State, and he thanks his three coaches for helping him reach this level.

“They told me I can do it. They told me from day one, 'Justin you can be a 47 jumper,' all I got to do is do what they say and I can do it. I did what they said and I did it,” says Taylor.

Taylor is also the quarterback for the Westover High football team. He says he’s thinking about trying out for football at Savannah State as well.
