LEESBURG, GA -- Lee county football wrapped up practice with the annual red and white spring game on Friday night, and the Trojans spent most of this spring working to fill the divots that a talented 2010 senior class left behind.

However, the sizeable crowd at Friday’s game indicated there isn’t a change in the expectations for the 2011 team, and the field is not the only place the players are hearing it.

“We get it everyday in the hallways...is the defense going to be the same as last year,” senior linebacker Thomas Wright joked. “Are we still going to have the same team camaraderie as last year?”

Most of the vital pieces from the 2010 offense are heading off to college. The Trojans lose quarterback Justin Walker, running back Denzel Eckles and a duo of wide receivers in Georgia commit Sanford Seay and James Terrell. This core led the 2010 Trojans to a 7-4 record and a berth in the 4A playoffs in head coach Dean Fabrizio’s second year.

“If we're going to be a good program year in and year out, you're going to lose good players every year. What it comes down to…is some unknowns have to step up and replace those guys,” Fabrizio said.
