Pro Bowl practices begin in South Florida

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Some of the NFL's top players are taking the practice field to begin preparations for the first Pro Bowl game in Miami.

AFC stars began working out Wednesday morning at a high school in Fort Lauderdale, with NFC stars to follow. The game has been moved from Honolulu to Miami on Sunday as an experiment, and it's also being played the week before the Super Bowl instead of in its customary slot the week after the NFL's title game.

As usual, however, many Pro Bowl players — more than two dozen — are replacements for those originally chosen. Many of those absent cited injuries, and those taking part in the Super Bowl won't play. That includes quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.
