ALBANY, GA -- Albany-native Ricardo Lockette returned to his hometown Thursday with one NFL season and one professional touchdown under his belt. But the Seattle Seahawk is already thinking about year two.
Much like Lockette's blistering quickness, the wideout burst on to the NFL scene at the end of the 2011 season by scoring his first touchdown in the final regular season game against Arizona.
The Monroe High School product finished his rookie year with two catches for 105 yards playing in only the final two games of 2011, but Lockette sees 2012 as another great opportunity to improve in the game he loves.
“The NFL is all about not making the same mistake over and over again. The biggest thing is growing in the game and growing as an athlete and growing as a man. I look forward to making the best of my opportunity and taking my team to the playoffs,” Lockette said.
Lockette spoke at Albany’s YBH Wellness Camp on Thursday preaching the importance of fitness and hard work to local kids- his tour through Albany is only beginning.
The wide receiver will also be helping at Saturday's Skills and Drills Camp hosted by Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch.
