ALBANY, GA -- As Deerfield-Windsor basketball goes, so does Knights guard Ramello Carter. The senior matched his mentor's scoring record Friday. On Saturday, Carter had a chance to break it.

Carter tied Deerfield's single game scoring record with 41 points sharing the record with former Clemson stand out Andre Young. On Friday against Calvary Christian, the guard was 5-10 on 3 point field goals going 17-27 overall.

The hot shooting continued Saturday against Sherwood Christian tallying 31 points in a 102-61 win. Throughout the special weekend, Carter is giving credit to his mentor.

“Andre Young, I look up to him. He's one of my biggest role models. I learned most everything I know from him. It's nothing, but respect. I'm just honored to be in the same category as him,” Carter said.

Deerfield has won seven straight games with six of those victories by at least 30 points. The Knights play at Brookwood School Tuesday.
