ALBANY, GA -- The high school football season has ended with state champions receiving their trophies at the Georgia Dome last week. For Monroe quarterback Charles Stafford, his junior season ended a few weeks ago, but a new game begins at the AT&T Georgia Junior Bowl.

Stafford has been invited to the game as one of the top juniors in the state. The bowl game played on New Years Eve in atlanta is known for finding talent and vaulting it to the top of the recruiting ranks.

After a strong 2012 season, Stafford accepts any challenge thrown his way. Monroe Head Coach Charles Truitt says his QB won't be fazed by the big stage.

“This week coming up will give (Stafford) an indicator of how he actually fares. I think Charles is a kid that is looking forward to the challenge. I foresee him being able to go out and excel,” Truitt said. “I really feel that when he leaves (the bowl week) on the 31st of December…a lot more people are going to understand what type of talent Charles has.

Stafford isn’t the only South Georgia representation. Thomas County Central's Adam Choice, Albany linebacker Juwon Young and Colquitt County offensive lineman Jamiyus Pittman are expected to play in the New Year's Eve game. Monroe’s Truitt will be an assistant coach.
