NICEVILLE, FL -- The wins haven't come easy for the Darton State baseball team, but the Cavaliers current 6-2 record speaks for itself.

Darton State needed another ninth inning comeback Friday in a 7-6 road win over Northwest Florida State. Trailing 6-2 to open the ninth, the Cavaliers had their opponent right where they wanted them.

Darton State pushed three runs across in the inning before freshman Brandon Sharpe created a moment the 2013 Cavaliers won't forget.

Down to the final strike on the final out, Sharpe delivered a single to right scoring the game tying and winning runs. Crisp County pitcher Davis Adkins allowed one hit, but struck out the side in the bottom half of the inning for his first win in a Cavalier uniform.

Darton State hopes the late inning dramatics won't be necessary in a Saturday doubleheader back at Northwest Florida State.
