ALBANY, GA -- Running wasn't the only event happening in Albany Saturday, the annual Mardi Gras festival was held despite frigid temperatures outside.

Vendors and musicians lined Pine Avenue all the way up to the Riverquarium to eat, drink, and of course, be merry!

Event organizer, Tommy Gregors says the main goal is to strengthen relationships and build up the community.

"This is our 11th year doing this, and it's just an opportunity to bring the community together, bring a lot of different folks out, bring folks from surrounding towns into Albany," said Gregors.

Gregors also commented that they were hoping for more sunshine and less wind, but that the festival was a lot of fun regardless of the weather.
