ALBANY, GA --

The Monroe High School Athletic Booster Club gave out 9, fully prepared, thanksgiving meals, Wednesday afternoon.

With the help of the schools guidance counselor, 9 deserving Monroe High families were selected, with at least two coming from each grade. The dinners were purchased from Publix and included a cooked turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce.

John Albert Cross, the President of Monroe High's Booster Club, said, "People have to realize that, (not) everyone is fortunate enough to have a good thanksgiving meal, so somebody is going to have to step forward to do this for some of the people."

This is the first year the booster club has provided Thanksgiving dinners, and they are looking to make it an annual occurrence.
