Two Albany Police officers were involved in an accident on the corner of South Monroe and the 500 block of West Oglethorpe near Good Life Tires Friday evening around 4:39 p.m.

Officer Benjamin Parsley and Officer Christopher Baltenburger were traveling east on Oglethorpe with lights and sirens responding to a hold up.

At the same time, a silver Chevrolet Malibu LS holding Carlisle Kendricks and Disheba Kendricks was travelling north on Monroe Street.

The cop car collided with Malibu at the intersection.

The passenger and the driver of the Malibu were taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial. The extent of their injuries has not been released.

No officers were harmed during the accident.

Georgia State Patrol has taken over the case and will continue to investigate what caused the accident.
