ALBANY, GA -- The Darton State women’s basketball team has hit its highest NJCAA ranking under head coach Lea Henry.

The 18th ranked Cavaliers head to undefeated Georgia Highlands Saturday for an early lead on the Region 17 number one seed.

It’s a match up of contrasting styles. Under former South Georgia Tech coach Brendan Harrell, Highlands will be looking to score with a bevy of guards. Darton State will contest every shot ranking second nationally in field goal defense.

What the Cavaliers lack in experience, they make up for in maturity.

“They understand that it's conference time, region time. They know the tougher teams are on our schedule. Even though, they are young they've been focused all year...they've worked hard in practice. They like the big games,” Coach Henry said.

The glue that holds the Cavaliers basketball team is healthy again. Sophomore Chan Fann has missed the last three games with an injury, but all signs are pointing to Fann playing Saturday at highlands.
