ALBANY, GA -- For Darton State College soccer, one isn't such a lonely number. The number one national ranking that sits in front of the men's team isn't a burden. In fact, the team hardly even notices it.

At least, that’s the mindset of Cavaliers head coach Bart Sasnett. Although, Sasnett’s team continues to play at a high rate worthy of a fourth straight week at the top of the NJCAA polls.

In a 6-0 shut-out win over Thomas University (JV), the Cavaliers posted five goals in the first led by sophomore Andrew Palumbo Wednesday. The Cavaliers are plugging along with 3 weeks remaining in the regular season.

“I'm pleased each week we get better and better. Our biggest thing is trying to not to be complacent, so everybody's happy about being ranked number one, but we haven't really talked about it very much,” Sasnett said.

Lady Cavaliers Beat ABAC 5-2

Freshman Stephanie Anes scored two goals, and Shenika Williams added another as the Lady Cavaliers defeated ABAC 5-2 in Tifton.

Darton State moved to 5-5 with the region victory and face South Georgia College in Douglas next Tuesday.
