ALBANY, GA -- Downed for the first time in 2012 last week, the Albany Panthers faced the unusual feeling of having to rebound after a loss.

That feeling didn’t last long as the Panthers rallied to defeat the Louisiana Swashbucklers 54-47 on Saturday night. Albany trailed late in the fourth quarter before pulling ahead in the final seconds.

Panthers quarterback Cecil Lester returned to the starting line-up after missing last Sunday’s game in Columbus. Lester led the Panthers to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter tossing touchdowns to Antwone Savage and Antwontis Cutts.

After the 14 point outburst, the Panthers offense went stagnant. Louisiana pushed back in the second quarter trimming the Panthers lead to 14-13. The game remained tight for the rest of the game.

With the win, Albany (7-1) completes the three game season sweep of Louisiana. The team travels to Montgomery to face the Alabama Hammers next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 8 PM.
