MACON, GA -- It was one of those games, one of those nights for Deerfield Windsor basketball. A game where you can't find the defense, a rebound or even a free throw. Unfortunately for the Knights, it came in the GISA-AAA State Championship.

After a slow start, Deerfield was left chasing Loganville Christian the entire night, but couldn’t grab hold of the opposition...or the trophy in a 74-65 defeat.

In the fourth quarter, when another Deerfield comeback appeared realistic trailing 64-61, Loganville crushed the Knights dreams. The next time down the court for Loganville, Caleb Boykin answered with a three pointer from the corner.

Deerfield’s Ramello Carter did everything he could for his team. One of nine seniors on the roster, Carter poured in 32 points along with every ounce of effort.

Deerfield was looking for its first boy’s basketball state championship since 2010 while riding a 19-game winning streak in to the title bout. The winning streak ends one game short for a superb set of Knights seniors.
