ALBANY, GA --
Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital rose above dozens of other hospitals in the state to be ranked number one in Georgia for Vascular Surgery in 2013 by Health Grades.

Health Grades is a company that ranks every hospital in the nation based on the data submitted to the federal government.

Based off of feedback, Phoebe came out in the top 5% in the nation for vascular surgery in 2013.

Director of Vascular Surgery Dr. Dan Martin says it's an honor to receive the recognition that shows even a small, local hospital can provide the same quality of care that you can find in large cities.

Dr. Martin attributes the award to the focus on quality initiatives by all of the vascular staff.
