ALBANY, GA -- Monroe football player Jawaski Randle signed with Miles College Thursday putting the student part way ahead of the athlete.

With a 3.5 high school GPA, the Tornado defensive back likes the idea of growing with the Miles Golden Bear family-- a team that won the SIAC football championship in 2011.

Randle also likes the idea of starting for Miles as a freshman. It’s a realistic opportunity according to Monroe Head Coach Charles Truitt. For the Tornado athlete, all those aspects made Miles feel right.

“The program’s turning around. Coach (Reginald) Ruffin, he’s a great coach. He really cares about starting a new foundation, a family. That’s what I want to be a part of…a family,” Randle said.

Randle added he's ready for a new challenge away from Monroe. The all-region defensive back finished off his 2012 season with three interceptions, 84 tackles and one punt return for a touchdown.
