ALBANY, GA --
City of Albany Commissioners continued the conversation on increasing the hotel/motel tax within the city of albany today at their regularly scheduled work session.

Most are in agreement with the tax itself, but continue to argue on where the extra $200,000 dollars generated from it would be put. Assistant city manager Wes Smith says his office has recommended the general fund from the beginning.

"Some commissioners want to use it in other ways, and that was still not answered today, so we're going to come up with some new opportunities and let them discuss it again in January," said Smith

The topic will remain shelved through the month of December as the commission breaks for the Christmas season.
