ALBANY, GA -- The playoffs started Saturday for the Albany Tech basketball team. Stuck down in the depths of the Region 17 standings, the Titans needed three wins in the final three games to survive.
Albany Tech couldn’t withstand the constant attack from Chattahoochee Tech, the 16th ranked team in the nation, falling Saturday 79-56. With the loss, Tech is eliminated from region tournament consideration.
The Titans (4-14, 8-20) finish the season on the road against Georgia Highlands and Georgia Perimeter.
Lady Titans Lose to Chattahoochee
The Lady Titans cut an eight point Chattahoochee Tech deficit to one halfway through the second quarter, but the defense couldn’t come up with the necessary stops. Even with a 77-70 loss, the Albany Tech Lady Titans remain eighth in the Region 17 standings.
