ALBANY, GA -- Westover defensive tackle Trenton Thompson attended Georgia's Junior Day just excited about the opportunity in front of him.

On Saturday, the sophomore Patriot traveled to Athens to see what the Bulldog program and head coach Mark Richt had to offer.

After those meetings, it's clear the Bulldogs were willing to offer a lot.

The 6'4", 270 pound lineman returned to Albany with a Georgia football scholarship offer according to Westover head coach Octavia Jones.

It's the only junior day invitation Thompson has received thus far, but Jones expects that to change soon.

"He (Thompson) had a big season for us this year. After watching him in practice, we knew we had a gem," Coach Jones said.
