ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Tech Titans have finally put to bed the losing streak that may have caused some restless nights. Ending an eight game skid on Friday, the Titans started a streak in the positive direction Saturday.
Colquitt County native Antown Tuff and the Titans defeated Alabama Southern 83-67 in the Albany Tech Holiday Classic finale. Tuff led the Titans with 18 points with sophomore Tony Fears pitching in 12.
Albany Tech made its move quickly jumping ahead 10-2 in the first five minutes of the game to keep their Friday momentum going.
The Titans travel to Daytona for two more non-conference games against Daytona State and St. Petersburg College on Wednesday. While the stretch run of 13 straight conference games begins Jan 9 with Georgia Highlands.
Lady Titans Go Cold, Lose to Alabama Southern
The Albany Tech Lady Titans felt optimistic about their chances for a 2-0 weekend up against Alabama Southern on Saturday.
Those chances soon faded due to a cold shooting night. The Lady Titans shot 28% from the field falling 60-41 to Alabama Southern. Albany Tech missed all seven of their attempts from three point range turning the ball over 26 times.
