ALBANY, GA -- On Friday, the Westover Patriots continued their high-flying act and the Monroe Tornadoes dominated Dougherty setting up a rivalry rematch in the U-Save It Tournament Championship.
It took the full effort for Westover to dispose of Statesboro. The Patriots survived a late rally for a 60-58 win in the final night of the game. Westover won the U-Save It Tournament in 2011.
A second quarter run that extended in to the third propeled Monroe to its second win of the season over Dougherty 52-38. The Tornadoes led 17-15 midway through the second quarter before turning up the defense on the Trojans.
