ALBANY, GA -- The Albany State football team completed the homecoming party in style. Even though, the Golden Rams showed up fashionably late to Saturday’s game.

After struggling to score in the first half, the Golden Rams won their fourth straight Saturday with a 36-9 blowout over Clark Atlanta.

A scoreless game till late in the second quarter, Albany State posted 10 points in a hurry with a Dillan Fontaine field goal and a rushing touchdown by Nathan Hoyte.

In the second half, the Golden Rams were successful in every facet of the game. Quarterback David Kooi connected with Camilla native Jessie Atkins on several long pass completions.

The ASU defense held Clark Atlanta to nine points returning an interception for a touchdown on the final play of the game. The Golden Rams “dirty blue” defense has allowed 12.5 points a game during the four game winning streak.

The special teams has been a liability during some phases of the 2012 season. On Saturday, kicker Dillan Fontaine connected on three field goals and Mike Bell blocked a punt in the fourth quarter.

Albany State needs two more wins to clinch a second-straight appearance in the SIAC Championship. The Golden Rams travel to Augusta to face Benedict College next week and cap off the season in the Fountain City Classic against Fort Valley State.
