TIFTON, GA --
This week, the option has been running through the mind of Tift County head coach John Reid.
State-ranked Thomas County Central and its offensive duo of Adam Choice and Deondre Cooksey head to Tifton this week for another non-region rivalry game. Choice and Cooksey have caused problems for many opponents this season, and the Blue Devils hope to curb those problems Friday night.
The Blue Devils will counter with their own running back attack in Rashad Daniels. Daniels has led the Tift County offense gaining more than 700 yards rushing in three games this season.
Still building his Blue Devils program, Reid says he'll learn a lot about his team from their state power opponent.
“I think they've beat us 7 or 8 of the nine times we've played here. We've got to try and turn that tide, we've got to get to where they are with their confidence and the best players in their county playing for them,” Coach Reid said. “That's what we've got to work at...as soon as we play good enough football I think we'll attract that kind of player to our program and that'll be huge for us.”
Thomas County Central vs. Tift County is the Fox 31 Blitz Game of the Week. Kickoff at Brodie Field is set 8 PM Friday.
