ALBANY, GA -- Only eleven days after finding their wrestling coach replacement for Chris Fleeger, Darton College must begin its search for a new head wrestling coach.
Confirmed through sources Thursday, former assistant Purdue Coach Tom Erikson, who was announced to the vacant Darton position on June 10, will not be taking over the Cavaliers program.
Coach Erikson wrote on twitter Thursday afternoon: It is with sadness that I have to turn down the head coaching position at Darton College.
A call placed into Cavaliers Athletic Director Mike Keifer Thursday afternoon was not immediately returned.
Erikson had been a Purdue assistant since 1999 before agreeing to move south for the Cavaliers vacancy.
