LEESBURG, GA -- For the first time in quite some time, there's a buzz around Lee County boys basketball.

The Trojans officially named Terrell County assistant and former Colquitt County head coach Kirven Davis to their head coaching position.

Davis will have some work to do on a squad that notched seven wins combined in the last two seasons. The six-year Packers coach was able to take Colquitt County to the state playoffs twice, and he’s looking to do the same with the Trojans.

“Wins come with participation. Wins come with a mindset that's like with any job...it's our approach that makes us successful.  If we can get the parents and the players to buy in, I think we can all be successful,” Davis said on Monday at the Lee County Board of Education meeting.

Coach Davis says his first order of business is to meet with the team this week and lay the foundation for creating that winning culture.
