OZARK, AL -- The Albany State baseball season ends a few wins shy of a championship for the second straight season.

After a SIAC Championship game appearance in 2011, the Golden Rams drop in the semifinals to Paine College 11-1 on Sunday.

ASU mustered one run and three hits off the Paine pitching staff. The Lions pounded out six runs in the final two innings to pull away from the Golden Rams.

Joshua Heinrich picked up the loss for Albany State allowing five runs (3 earned) in 5.2 innings pitched. Shortstop Allen Hardy went 1-4 with the lone RBI for the Golden Rams.

Stillman College defeated Paine 7-2 for the SIAC title. ASU ends their season with a 21-21 overall record.
