LEESBURG, GA -- In high school baseball, the state playoffs are slowly creeping in to view. Lee County and Lowndes High School are on pace to make their annual appearances in the state tournament. On Wednesday, the teams jumped out of their region schedule for a contest at Trojan Field.

It appears the Vikings are doing more of the charging in to the postseason. Lowndes jumped to a 3-0 lead over the Trojans in the first inning, and continued to pile on in a shortened 14-3 victory on the road.

Both teams return to region play on Friday. Lowndes travels to Tift County for a 7 PM first pitch. While Lee County hosts a doubleheader with Thomas County Central at 5 PM.

Crisp County Pitching Silences the Rams

The top two teams in AAA-Region 1 squared off Wednesday in Sylvester. Much like every other game in the 2012 season, the Crisp County pitching continues to dominate opponents. The Cougars held Worth County scoreless to remain undefeated.

Both teams are off the schedule until next Tuesday. Crisp County hosts Americus-Sumter, and Worth County faces Westover.
