ALBANY, GA -- Darton College softball spent two months building their winning streak to a staggering 30 games. After a two week lay-off, the Lady Cavaliers were back on the field and staggered right out of the gate.
The Cavaliers streak is starting over.
In nine innings, Darton dropped their first game against East Georgia 5-4. It’s the first loss for the Lady Cavaliers since February 11.
In game two, the Cavs made a statement early posting five runs in the first inning. Darton glided to a 12-4 win called in five innings. Holly Smith broke the game open with a two RBI double in the first.
Darton Baseball Splits with Thomas
Darton baseball dropped in the national rankings this week from 12 to 20. The Cavaliers didn’t let the slide affect their play on the field.
In game one, with the teams playing most of their regulars, the Cavaliers cruised to an 11-1 win over the Thomas University varsity squad. Darton dropped game two against the Thomas JV squad 6-1.
